xx The Little Italian~
« Thread started on: Feb 4th, 2012, 11:22am »

Once upon a time, deep under the ocean, there lived a beautiful merman named Feliciano. He was well known throughout the seven seas as the most cheerful, wonderful, beautiful, gullible, clumsy merman ever to exist. He also had a habbit of swimming away from what he was meant to be doing, normally to get out of doing anything that involved work, or thinking.

One day, he was exploring with his friend, Francis. Francis was a glamerous dolphin who prided himself on his flamboyant flashiness, and was often seen swimming to the surface of the ocian so that he could gaze at his own reflection in the water.

"I don't think we should 'ave come thiz far..." He whispered to Feliciano, swimming a little slower as they approached a sunken ship, covered in seawead and creatures who had made it their home. Feliciano nodded in agreement, staring nervously at the boat, though he had to admit he was curious about what was in it.

"M-maybe we-a should go back to-a Ludwig..." He suggested, turning around and looking back, realising that they were lost, and soon to be late for Feliciano's grandfather's party.

There was no need to go back to Ludwig. He had followed them out there to make sure Feliciano did not get into trouble, or get hurt. Or lost. Or upset. And to make sure Francis didn't try to kidnap him so they could swim away together to get married...again.

"Vhere do you thing you vere going?" The crab growled, grabbing hold of the Italian's tail with his pincer. "Do you have any idea how late you are going to be!? Vhot if something happened to you!?" He continued to yell angry, worried comments at the merman and dolphin, already starting to drag him back home.

"But it's-a so beautiful!" Feliciano commented, whimpering at the pincer on his tail, but going back with his crabby carer anyway. After all, this part of the ocean was dark and scary. "Grandpa Rome won't mind~!"

Francis swam beside them, glad to be away from the scary-looking boat. It made him think of pirates. And he really, really didn't want to meet a pirate again. "Oui, Feliciano iz right...'E won't be that mad...'E never iz..."

Both Feliciano and Francis were right. Grandpa Rome, king of all the oceans, was not mad with them. Though he was dissapointed with them when they missed the party, it had been to celebrate Feliciano's birthday, after all.

"If your Grandfather found out you'd been going to the surface he vould disown you immediately!" Ludwig snapped, scolding Feliciano as he paced back and forth in the throne room of the palace.

"Don't-a talk rubbish! I would never do that to my grandson!"

"Grandpa Rome!" Feliciano glomped his grandfather, cuddling him. "I'm-a so glad to see you! Ludwig said-" He broke off at the look on the crab's face. "Never mind~"

"So...you were-a going to the surface again?" Grandpa Rome raised an eyebrow and cuddled his grandson back, kissing his head. "You know I don't-a like you going up there Feliciano! What if you-a got hurt?"

"I'm-a sorry, Grandpa Rome...It's just-a so lovely up there~"

Ludwig scowled, watching the two babbling about nothing important. "It's a surprise he hasn't noticed yet..." He grumbled to Francis, who, up until now, had been gazing dreamily at the King of the ocean.

"Noticed? Noticed what?" He asked, moving his eyes to Feliciano. "Iz there zomething wrong with 'im?"

"Ja, you could say that. He told me the other day..."

Before anything else was said, the dolphin had swam up to Feliciano and glomped him...as well as he could. "Feliciano! Why didn't you tell me you were in love?" He grinned, his eyes wide and sparkling. "Who iz it?!"

Feliciano looked a little worried. That was the reason he hadn't told Francis. He had a big mouth. "N-no one..." He laughed nervously, swimming away from them a little. "J-just a...human..." He whispered nervously.

"Feliciano! I have-a nothing against you being in-a love! But why a human, of all-a creatures? They're-a evil, and will destroy you! And they are-a incapable of love~ Unlike us, who can spend all day and night with...~" Ancient Rome carried on babbling about how mer-people were the best lovers ever to exist, and while he was distracted, Feliciano swam away, up to the surface, in a vain hope that his beloved human was up there.

Ludwig and Francis followed him up to the surface, and watched as he stared in wonder at a magnificent ship, fireworks lighting up the sky above them, and loud music being played and a huge party taking place.

"Dude! This is like the best party ever!" A loud, obnoxious voice called out, causing Ludwig to cover his ears. "Surely...that can't be him..." He whispered to himself, watching as Italy's eyes sparkled with love. "How could anyone love someone vith a voice like that...?"

"It's-a him!" Feliciano cried, swimming close towards the boat, jumping up and sitting on a ledge, being sure to keep hidden. He stared at the American, madly in love with him despite everything about him. How much he ate, his annoying voice, his ignorance were only a few examples of what made him one of the most annoying creatures on the planet. But Feliciano couldn't help it. The human was beautiful, and he was in love.

The party continued well into the night, until a storm began to brew. The sky grew cloudy and dark, the waves rocked the boat violently, wind wipped the white sails and thunder crashed ahead. The crew went into a blind panic, trying to secure the sails as the deck flooded with rain. Suddenly, the mast snapped, crashing down and knocking people flying.

One of them was Feliciano's human...

Without a moment's hesitation, Feliciano dived back into the water after the human he was so in love with. Using all of his strength -and even that wasn't enough- he dragged the drowning, unconscious human back to the surface. The boat was now a wreck, completely smashed and burning. He grabbed hold of a piece of wood and rested his beloved human on it, beginning to swim as fast as he could to the nearest shore.
